Update 13 October 2026
Introducing Lab Notes: a written summary of your DEXA consultation
Lab Notes is a written summary of your consultation, added as the last page of your Scanletics report. It’s drafted by AI from a live transcript of the conversation, then reviewed and edited by your Body Scientist.
Lab Notes is optional and included at no extra cost. As of October 2026, Scanletics is the only DEXA clinic in the UK that gives you a written summary of your consultation.
Why we built Lab Notes
A Scanletics consultation runs for 35 minutes and covers a lot: your results, what they mean and what to change. Spoken advice fades fast. Research on medical appointments finds that people forget 40 to 80% of what they’re told almost immediately, and remember written information better.¹
Lab Notes puts your key recommendations in writing, so they stick with you long after you leave the lab. Learn what is included in a Scanletics body composition scan.

What's in your Lab Notes
Lab Notes comes in three parts:
What we covered: your key results, with the numbers, and how they’ve moved if it’s a progress scan
Your focus areas: where the biggest gains are and why
Next steps: specific training and nutrition targets, plus when to book your next scan
How Lab Notes is made
AI writes the first draft and your Body Scientist has the final say.
You opt in. Your Body Scientist asks at the start of your consultation. Nothing is transcribed unless you say yes.
AI transcribes the conversation live. No audio is stored.
AI drafts your summary. We use the latest AI models from Anthropic for the best possible summary quality.
Your Body Scientist reviews and edits it. Then it goes into your report as the last page.
Your privacy
Lab Notes is explicit opt-in, and you can say no or ask to stop at any time. The only difference is that you won’t get the written summary, so you’ll rely on your own notes and memory.
No audio is stored and your name isn’t kept. We never sell your data or use it for marketing. Our privacy policy sets out what’s kept, why and for how long.
